I’ve been taking photos for wall prints for a little over a year. Before that I was simply taking photos for the love of it and flowers were my muse. As with most new photographers I posted a lot of my new work on Facebook to get critique from other photographers and just the average Joe. One person stood out as a fan over and over from day one. When I first posted my abstract hibiscus piece, the reception from the 1500+ friends on my list was not the best. I was even told at one point that I need to stop taking pictures of flowers and try people instead. Elisabelle Plourde who suffers from a rare neurological condition called Trigeminal Nueralgia Fibromialgia, a survivor if I ever saw one and one of the most positive human beings I’ve ever met sent me a message telling me how much peace my photo had brought her and telling me about her condition. We quickly became friends on Facebook and she asked me if I sell my photos. I responded that I’m working on it and she encouraged me to start selling my photos as wall prints. That was the motivation I needed to set up my website and start archiving all of my best photos. From time to time Elisabelle would remind me that she would be buying a print on her next visit to Antigua. This year she did just that and her 16×24 print was delivered to her door in Canada.
Thanks to Elisabelle for being my first Canadian customer and the encouragement I needed to stick to what I love to do most.
